Yet another stereo question

So I am about to buy a Pro5 and I was thinking to put the speakers from my current car, will they fit?

Pioneer 5x7" model # TS-A5715

Cerwin Vega 6 1/2" Model # SS-262 the magnet is huge I was wondering if it will clear the windows in the door when lowered

Is there Pre amp connections on the back of the stock HU or do I need to replace that too.

Since I need the space in the car, subs and all that stuff are out of the question and this set up works great with my current HU which has a 40 watt per channel built in amp but I would like to keep the stock stereo in the Pro5

Pioneer should work. Dunno bout the other.
Stock HU has no preouts and it blows. ?No SUBS? You can get a custom job to save space. Or you can get the subs that go under the front seats.

No subs is totally reasonable--one of the reasons that people buy the P5 over the sedan is the versatility of the hatch/wagon/whatever, and putting a big speaker setup in the back destroys that.

And under-the-seat subs, well, I've never heard one that's impressed me.

Buy the car first, then we'll talk

Anyway, seems you're putting better speakers at the back. Probably wasting money by doing this. Always get better front speakers than the rear, well unless you're sitting at the back most of the time for some reason

Note the speakers are in my current car, so I am not wasting money, it is already spent, and I need to know before I get the P5 so I don't waste my time removing the speakers from my current car. The Cerwin Vegas are great but you are right they would go in the rear of the Mazda.

Oops, my bad, didn't read your post carefully.

Anyway, as people have pointed out, there's no preouts on the stock HU. You'll need to tap the signals from the speaker wires.

Another problem is that while your 5x7 will fit fine in the front door perfectly, the holes on rear doors probably won't line up correctly with the mounting holes of the 6.5" speakers.

A friend of mine has a 2001 Impreza. He has subs under both the front seats. I was impressed. Not a whole lot of bass like my 12s but nice complement to the stock stereo.

This is it. http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=109

Any audioplace can hook up a set of Preouts. And no no subs under the seats...gets annoying and not loud enough. Personally...if u want a little bit of bass...get a Woofer Tube. Kenwood makes a nice 8'' (lil bit of bass) and a dual 8'' one that u can mount on ur back seat. Both sound awsome.

But also u have Bazooka, and AudioSOund (something liek taht)

But if u want some real bass..get atleast DUal 10'' Solo Barics or a Few 12's!!! youll be bumping...

mounting depth for rear spkrs is 2" or so (may be a little forgiving). big magnets may not fit. but altho you're not wasting money caue you already have the spkrs, i do second the thoughts of douggie. some say you don't even need rear fill, indicating that if your frontstage is good, rear spkrs are not important. anyhoo:

5x7 front (mounting depth +2.5")
6.5 rear (mounting depth +2.0")

now go buy the car.

Thanks, exactly the answer I was looking for, of course the C-V speakers are 2 3/16". I may choose to sell my car with the stereo, but I wanted the option. Waiting on a blue P5, the sale of my car and the end of a 3 week business trip to the west coast to come together, and just for fun I am about to buy a camera that cost almost as much as the car. 0-BIG Dept in 9.5 seconds
Which Island?
Thanks
Mopho

Hmmm. A 10K camera, or so? I, personally, would consider a maxed out Miata and a $5 Kodak Instamatic (wow - did I just date myself!). Seems like a better mix...

The camera makes me money and will end up paying for the car
