NOs

I am soon adding a 100 shot of NOs, should I change the rings and what not before the mod?

thankx

I am quite aware of the difference between nitrous and NOs, I found a decent deal on a Nitrous Oxide Systems nitrous kit, so I was wondering what kind of engine work I had in store to get her going.

You will need a way to change the ecu...with that large of a shot of nitrous...than to get larger fuel injectors...

I would suggest going w/ a wet kit...it has been proven on the dyno that a wet kit will get more HP vs. dry Kit!

Exclamation 100 shot....

A 100 shot is going to accelerate engine wear just as much as your speed. You will need to get a timing controller from MSD b/c you should retard your ignition at least 2 degrees for every 50 shot. You can start with more, and advance the ingition timing from there. You dont need to go into the motor yet but you will soon enough so start saving now. I would also look into a new fuel pump. It would be my recomendation to use a direct port system so you dont overload one cylinder with too much nitrous. I would also recomend staying under 60-75 shot but its your motor. Your gonna need a clutch too, try sr motorsports or become a Mazdaspeed Motorsports member soon.

good luck and show us timeslips.

Don't use more than a 50 shot of NOS!!!!!!!!!!

You should also be running the MSD ignition retard when its on and a bottle warmer to maintain proper pressure!

For real! Go wet! Before I got Boost, I had N20, and blew one cylinder (melted a piston). There are many factors that were at work, but I won't go into that. 75 is pushing it. Be paranoid, and go 50. For your sake, GET SOME FUEL ENRICHMENT!!!

I agree with yellowsport20- all his advice was right, go with the 50 and WET(Fogger) is safest. Anything higher you SHOULD retard timing but then your daily driving will suffer a bit....its a payback for when you are on it.......the bigger you go, you may need to get colder plugs, a new clutch(in due time)...there are other things that can factor, depending on your engine condition. However, I think its the easiest way to go fast, PERIOD. and very fun too....I was lucky to get the homework done for my other car before I bought it and went through with a direct port 150 shot (25 x 6 per cylinder)- here are a few shots...good luck...

MasterMazdaTech on the Protege5.com forums ran a 125 wet shot, i think he threw a rod bearing or something like that. I wouldnt recommend anything higher than a 75 shot on a stock motor with a wet shot, 50 shot if youre doing a dry shot.

if you wanna do a 100 shot do some direct port, wrd. I'd do it but im broke.

MSDs don't work on our engines.

Too dangerous.

I wouldn't anyway. 100 shot for a drivetrain designed to handle 130hp is just too much.
