Blow Off Valve goes off to late...HELP!!
look below to see the type of car i have....anyways i put in a blow off valve that was given to me by a friend...i'm not sure which company made it but I think it's a HKS...i checked on the site and they only had the new ones they make, anyways the problem is that i have to take the car up to 5000 rpm's to actually get it to go off....if anyone knows anythign about blow off valve's can you help me out and tell me how to make it go off quicker...

Also how do you know that it is not working under 5000 rpm? at that or above is where the turbo is making enough pressure that you would hear the BOV sneeze... I don't know much about your turbo but it could be that under that amount of pressure you just can't hear it over the other engine noises

Most of the blow off valves made today are adjustable, meaning that you can adjust the spring rate on the piston that releases the air. If you run high boost, you may want to adjust the valvespring a little harder, so the valve doesn`t release boost if you go off the pedal at 1500 rpm. And, as in your case, you may want to adjust the spring a little softer to make it release the air at lower rpms.
As i don`t know what valve you use, i can`tell you exactly how to adjust it. Look for a bolt\screw\nut or something at the top of the valve and turn it counter-clockwise to make the spring softer. Some blow off valves has to be opened in order to be adjusted. These valves use distance plates\spacers (don`t know the correct english word) located directly below\on top of the spring in order to make it stiffer. remove a few of the spacers and do a test run.

i tried adjusting it cause mine adjusts by just turning the end of the bov, it's very simple but i think it's not a good one because of this....and i also have a turbo gauge, and it tells me that the most i get it around 7, and thats when the car is going up to 5000 rpm....
