It's aways good to control volume surge, even in air flow and would work in a high rpm blower such as the Vortech.

Any thought's as to which unit would be easier to fabricate an install?

The power steering pump area on our cars is where the Area 51 one is mounted and would require relocating the pump.

The Eaton would have to be mounted on the back of the engine with a custom intake built around it. Would the Ford focus Jackson racing manifold fit?

im pretty familiar with the focus's, the bolt paterns to the manifold do not match up with a mazda block that i know of, and customizing your own bolts will be a project of its own because you need to have no compression loss when you interface it to the block.

i've seen blowoffs on supercharged engines, the reason most people dont see it is because many supercharged engines dont exceed 7000rpm or so where your likely to have a vacuum or excess pressure somewhere because things loose sync. so i'd think its important on a 4 cylinder compared to an 8 cylinder that doesn't rev past 6000. i agree with whats stated above, the super usually gives the volume the engine demands, where a turbo can keep boosting, and also boost spike which will blow your engine in some fashion if you have no method of release.

from my understanding, you install a blow-off valve if the throttle is after the supercharger/turbocharger, as in most turbo applications and also in vortech applications. it prevent excess pressure in the crossover tubes when the throttle is suddenly closed.

in the case of the jackson racing blower, the throttle is before the supercharger, thus a blow-off valve would not be needed. however, to increase fuel economy, they use a bypass valve that will allow air to circualte past the blower to reduce fuel requirements.

Why is a centrifugal supercharger on a 4 cylinder a stupid idea?

Why is it more benificial on a 6 or 8 cylinder engine?

Or do you think centrifugal superchargers are bad in general?
