There's no such thing as free or cheap horsepower.

As a representative of E-Racing, LLC I would like to set the record straight on our fine product. This product has been scientifically proven to create almost 1 PSI of boost. You can take your 1 PSI of boost to the park, walk your dog with it, and it even cuts this aluminum can. So please buy this product so that at your next import show we can afford to hire the lovely ladies whose pictures appear on our website.

Seriously though. What a CROCK of ****. I was looking through their FAQ. Its frickin hilarious. People that buy this should be thrown down a cliff because they are thinning out the good genes in the pool.

do they make stickers for that thing? i bet a sticker would make more torque than the unit itself and i could put it right alongside my big red Type-R!

Jajajajaaj you all guys made my day. Some dude here had it installed on a Mits. Montero and say that it gave .2 secs in the 1/4....for $300, not worth (not upgradeable anyway).

I thought the same about the Intake Injen which cost me $270, but later I had a different view about my investment (to justify myself).

1. My fisrts step on making performance mods.
2. Better Zoom Zoom feeling (specially when pushing the gas pedal to the end in 1st at 3000rpm and gearing it to 2nd at 6800rpm and sometimes chirping in 2nd).
3. Better look to the engine.
4. More "head-turns"
5. Remote Cop activator/alarming device.
6. A horn substitute
7. etc etc etc...

I should do this, not only will it "supercharge" my car, but it will lower the intake air temp drastically.
hahhahhahhahahhaha, best photoshop ive seen in a while, hahahhahhahhahahha

i wonder if you get the tornado and that sc'r how much hp you can get?!?

Well the Tornado is able to produce 10 BSHP (bullshit horsepower for you guys from Arkansas out there) and the super powerful electric supercharger can produce 15 BSHP so you get 25 BSHP. And then adding the "Type R" and "MazdaSpeed" stickers will net you at least another twenty or so. You are on your way to building the most powerful BS vehicle on the road! All you need is the triple decker spoiler and you are there.

I respectfully disagree. An electric s/c COULD work. An air compressor doesn't care how it's driven; an electric motor is one way to do it.

The problem is getting an electric motor to actually push enough psi into the intake under load to make horsepower without putting the car's electrical system into meltdown Electricity to drive the s/c is NOT free; it takes horsepower to drive the alternator, just like any other engine accessory. For this reason, as long as the s/c is driven off the same main circuit as the rest of the car's electricals, it will not be any more efficient than a regular engine-driven blower. You are essentially just driving the s/c with wires instead of a belt. Big whoop.

And speaking of power draw, according to the E-ram website, this device draws 700 watts of power. Do the math- at 12V, this is 58.3 amps! Your Pro's stock main fuse is a 100A fuse. Subtract 58.3A, and it only leaves 41.7A to run everything else in the car. Don't try this with your headlights on, folks!

And just for comparison- I seem to remember that the popular Jackson Racing s/c takes ~5 hp to drive at WOT. This translates to...3728W and 311A! Holy melted alternator, Batman!

The only way to realistically get an electric s/c to work is to wire it off of a seperate electrical system- and one that uses a higher voltage than 12V to keep the peak current down in order to use lighter-duty wiring. Until you're ready to do this, don't expect much from electric supercharging.

There is a electric "turbo" produced by Garrett that is used on buses and other city vehicles that does produce 5 lbs of boost and it does work only draw back is it does take quite a bit of energy to turn it they have two versions of it one that only works at WOT and another that is progressive with the TPS. If I can find the link again I will show it to you but there is one that works out there.....now it is about 1800 bucks for the base model though.
