getting a s-afc to work
to get a afc or a s-afc to work do you need anything other than what is attached to your motor.. I plan on using one and I know I have heard some guys saying they used some different plug or s omething like that ...
any ideas

the SAFC just gets spliced into ur stock ECU, i dont know they make a wiring harness for the BP motor, but with my probe (and i had to splice it myself), basically u just find the wire that is from the VAF/MAF (air flow meter) and splice the SAFC in there to intercept the signal, and an output wire from the SAFC back into the ECU to "trick" it....and then of course there are a handful of other wires that do other stuff like lighting/power, rpm, throttle % etc.....but u should be able to just splice it into the ECU.....its all electrical, nothing mechanical

I downloaded the manual and install guide for the S-AFC. They only have the pinout diagram for a Jspec Familia. After comparing it with the American service manual some of the wires are in different locaitons.
Has anyone successfully hooked up this unit to an American ECU and can provide some info. I have heard about using the Auto throttle body with TPS but what about the other connections.
Any help would be appreciated.

Bruce I'm running a AFC on my car with no problems what so ever in fact I've completely removed all emission controls, VICS flap stuff, and the MAP sensor, installed eclipse injectors, and the car is running beautiful. The AFC is controlling the injectors with no problem, totally tunable and adjustable. I have 1.6L 3rd gen so my pin out is different but if you want to know what I did I can crawl under the dash and let you know?

in a nutshell, it intercepts the air flow/intake reading from the air flow meter, and redirects it to the ECU with the capability to increase or decrease the reading up to 50% each way.....doing so will "trick" the ECU in thinking theres more/less air coming into the engine, and thus the ECU will increase/decrease fuel accordingly.....hence the word PIGGYBACK, it runs off the ECU
