Hi, I'm new to the forum, registered today, own an 1993 323 GTR( european model - as I'm from Europe). I was just wondering if there is the GTR model known in the US or Canada. As I was told, it was never imported to the US. By the way, I'll check the exh. diameter for you, as mine is off the car at this moment. Let you know. My GTR is a 1.9 (1839cc) Turbo, 200 HP (stock) engine.

Hi, here I am again. So the downpipe is 2 and 1/4 inch on both sides (turbo and cat side) or exactly 57mm. Don't know if this will help you, as I'm using RHF6 IHI Turbocharger (stock for the European GTR). This is the only piece off my car (the turbo of course too), the rest is on. And as I wasn't under the car, this is the only measurement I can give you.

Hello BOBO and Welcome!!! I envey the fact you are able to get the GTR so easily You are correct, the GTX nor GTR ever made it to the US (except the 88-89 323 GTX) but there are plenty of hybrids over here with imported engines

thanks for the info, it was exactly the answer i was hoping for....

Well, my pleasure, anytime. BTW, my engine is disassembled at this moment, as I have blown 2 of my pistons (metal head gasket failure - prob. previous owner's mistake- water ino the comb. chamber- high pressure? - high temp? or this just helped the lean a/f ratio? who knows) Seems to me more likely the mixture was too lean. I'm completing the eng. at this time, so if you need some more meassurements from "inside", be quick, as I will be finished in a few days.

those 323 gtrs are so sweet!

my friend with his 88 mecury tracer is getting ready this summer to convert his car into a replica, sorta of one...... he is ordering the 1.8liter turbo engine from corksport, a LSD, new exhaust, new front facia, rear spoiler, and some nice 17inch wheels

on a tracer....lol itll be intresting, even though his car is basically like the 88-89 323s in the us, itll be very diffrent from everyone else's cars

Hi guys, here I am again. Let me to explain how I came to your forum. As I own an RX7 too, browsing their forum, I've fond the yours as a link. And that was the first 323(Protegé) site I've found(I am new to the computers - for about 5 months _ did never surf the web before). From that first time, I've found many GTR sites, but allways looking to the yours too. My previous car was an 323 GTX 4WD TURBO 1600cc, so the "Forced Induction" was something for me. Have no pics on the net, as the mine is in the garage and not looking very "tasty" on the jackstands. As it will be running I'll send you some. Cheers.
