MS Protege Turbo ?

I recently bought the MS and it has around 800 miles on it now, the other day I decided to go a little bit harder on the car and pressed the pedal down and expected to be thrown back a little bit but the turbo seemed to surge. It wasnt a good power spread across rpms, it seemed like it kicked on and then cut off then on again. Anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Thanks.
Matt

maybe your knock sensor detected a lil ping and made your ecu retard the timing, thats my guess. Was it a hot day? What kind of gas are u using?

check out www.msprotege.com, a lot of the owners have had similar problems ... apparently the fuel map goes into limp mode at odd times.

Thanks for the site Chastan, and pro-slug it was a hot day too, but it did it at night, so it was a few degrees cooler then the day. I talked to a few guys from around my town and they seem to think that it is either the turbo itself (bearings) or the fuel system. But thanks for all the help.

I tried to go to the site yesterday and everytime I tried it said page cannot be displayed. I did it again today and it said the same thing. Is everything in the link correct? I would like to see what they have to complain about.

There is a fix in the works to be out by the end of the year. The Customer Support manager is personally involved as well as a few key engineers.
