NOS bottle

OK everyone I just got finished polishing my NOS bottle and yes before any of you go intot he NOS N2O debate it is an Nitrous Oxide Systems bottle. Anyways...its looks great now all nice and shiny there are a few lathe tuns marks still visable but oh well no body's perfect....Polishing that bottle though was a job I wish upon no one. If any of you are thinking about doing it think long and hard.

you truned the bottle??? hope you didn't take much off....did you have your bottle HYDRO'ed afterwards? you do realize this is a presure retaining piece of equipment? and did you know that its required to have a gas cylinder tested every few years? it differs from state to state......but by turning it down to make the sides nice and smoothe to polish them out...which I am sure looks good.....you took away some of the structural integrity of the cylinder.....think about that before you have it filled...

Yes I did hydro test it we have a testing station at work. I didn't turn it I was talking about the turn marks in it from the original manufacture of the bottle. I just wet sanded it down from there. I didn't take too much off and like I said I did test the bottle. It is still good and it turned out alot cheaper than buying the 350 buck polished bottle from NOS.

COOL....just wanted to put that out there in case you hadn't thought of it....certainly would make a mess to have a bottle let go in the back of your ride, especially if ANYONE was near it at the time. :{D

there is NOTHING like doing it the right way!
