super charger anyone!!!!

i was thinkin bout the tri point turbo, but i was thinkin, that's gonna pull away from the torque, and considering i do more around town racing, and driving, i think it's pointless. so i was thinkin, get a header, intake manifold, cam exhaust, cam intake, cold air, port and polish, fly wheels and clutch kit,and a less restrictive exhaust, first, then i was thinking bout buying a supercharger i figure i could do it just need to build a kit, my friend's dad had built a kit for another friends dad's lawnmower, so i'm thinkin buy the supercharger, have his dad work with some metal, and build a kit for it hehehe what do you guys think

I'm going to be building a supercharger setup for my 2.0 over the next couple months. The blower should (hopefully) be here next week and then I start to fabricate brackets and a manifold.

so how exactly are you gonna do it, you just gonna by a supercharger and then make a kit compatible to the protege. cause that's what i'm gonna do. If you are goin another way bout it let me know, maybe you are doing it a simpler way.

I'm buying a supercharger that will work for our car and then I'm going to make a sheet metal intake and different brackets to mount the alternator differently. I'll also have to make an idler to tension the belt. The throttle body will bolt on the inlet of the blower (Eaton M62 from a Olds 3.8 v6, series 1). These blowers are just about tailor made for our application as they already are internally bypassed and have a fantastic record for reliability. I'm probably going to use an additional injector controller from Simple Digital Systems. I'll run 2 additional injectors either immediately in front of the throttle body like they recommend or in the inlet of the blower where there are alreadya couple holes that can be modified to accept injectors. Right now I'm leaning towards before the throttle body.

SDS makes a very simple and inexpensive system. It controls the threshold where the extra injectors activate, and the gain which controls how much fuel it adds. I'm also probably going to be getting their A/F meter and O2 sensor to monitor A/F ratio. Their control unit lists for $315 U.S. and the harness and injectors (with bosses to put them in) are another $160. The A/F meter is only $78. The neat thing about mounting the injectors upstream of the blower is that the extra fuel gets mixed more thoroughly going through the blower.

As far as pulleys go, I can have Magnuson make one for $80 or they'll give me a price break if I order a couple.

The throttle body may end up being changed. I've been told that one off a Mazda or Probe V-6 will bolt right up and give about a 20% increase in air flow. I'm probably going to try that after the complete system is up and running.

Maybe he completed the kit, and went to test it and when he put it in 1st and punched it, the car spontaniously combusted and all that was left was the blower...... just maybe....
