Turbo a 1.8L?

I have a 1996 Mazda Protege ES and I want to turbo it.

Anyone done so or know an approx. cost? Where I could look into a turbo? Thanks.

www.essentialspeed.com (near Toronto, Ont) is looking to do a production kit for the 1.8l. You would get a WICKED discount as their guiena pig...people from the US drop their cars off theri all the time...theres an Accent from NY there right now!

Can you provide some more information on the kit. Like when they plan to have it on the market ETC.

The kit is NOT available yet. They need a prototype car. They want me to do it, but, I dont have the cash...they currently have a production P5 kit...check it out!

i'd say 3k$ or more. a grand for the turbo, another for the intercooler, piping, need to upgrade the injectors, fuel pump, etc. then you need to add install. and the price of a fuel management system.

the apex s-afr doesn't work with our car, so you might need to go with the hks. or end up getting a standalone... lol another 1000 and then install .

Check out www.ardperformance.com
Look under performance, and see their turbo kits, for all kinds of mazdas, including 1.6, 1.8 liters.

Hope that helps
