Turbo Charging the MP3/5 and other 2.0l

Start from scratch......... What all is needed ?

I was talking in another fourm and they mentioned a final price of 6K for a complete install of the Tri-Point Kit.

Anyone willing to wait for the Mazda Speed Protege ?

Parts would be easey-er to find and you might even be able to get it done at the dealers shop.

Who other than Tri-Point and Mazda (Garret T25) are producing turbo kits for the new Proteges.

No ofense to the older G1 and G2 guys you know you have the 1.6l turbos easy. =)

as I understood their is already a turbo manifold for our cars. Turbonetics makes it for the FS engines and it works on ours. Someone on the MP3/PROTEGE5 forum has it on their setup and they use the LINK engine management system I believe.

Turbonetics does make a manifold for the FS engine it runs right at 600 dollars though. Spoolin (Terry) was going to use taht manifold but decided to make his own and he had one made as a tubular design. The turbonetics manifold is a log style but it is cast so pretty strong. As far as building one from scratch you ahve to do alot of homework on it for one. I recommend Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell as a start pick it up at amazon for 25 bucks. As for the tripoint kit all I have to say is what I have said before AERODYNE turbos SUCK!!! High failure rate and very very expensive unit to replace. My advice to you is go custom or wait till the BEGI kit comes out the kit off the mazdaspeed protege won't be worth the money if you are buying a kit IMO.
