Waste Gate Soleniod Valve

I was looking through the manual for the GTX and saw that there is a Waste Gate Soleniod Valve. It says that " The Engine Control Unit controls the waste gate soleniod valve to give higher boost to the engine in higher rpm range, increasing engine torque and power."
It says it doesn't do anything until 5300 rpm, where it bypasses some of the pressure to the intake manifold.
I do not have this solenoid. Does the GTX ECU require this solenoid? It sounds like it would decrease performance. Is it even required?

Wouldn't adding it decrease performance since it is diverting boost pressure before the waste gate is set to release?

Hey rkives, where did you get a manual for the GTX? I would be very interested in obtaining one.

I got the manuals from www.chaiofangimports.com out of Winnipeg. Their website does not work so you have to email sales directly.
