first real world test of MS6

I'm 27. My p5 and beetle both have full coverage, my SHO has liability/theft/medical, my 67 mustang has theft/fire/basic movement...I can move it around town to the oil lube place if I need to but not more than 100 miles a month.

Just wanted to comment on the actual topic. First off...... MS6 DAMN!!! I was sent out to Phoenix, AZ last month for Mazdas ride and drive of the Mazdaspeed6. A whole day dedicated to the mechanics, comparisons, features, specs and testing of this amazing car (could my job get any better?).
This was all set up at Firebird Raceway where I paced pro driver Roberto Guerro, Hugh Golden and others. Finishing the 1/4mile straight at 100mph and into turn after turn over and over. Quick spooling turbo with mazdas well known knack for suspension. They had about 30 cars out on the track getting beat on for a week, some started having trouble boosting (but were fine after cooling). This problem seems normal after myself and everyone over a weeks time beat the **** out of these cars. I was very impressed and look forward to owning one, but im waiting for the 2nd year for all the bugs to be worked out. The master tech made a comment, "dad-racer, not boy-racer." That seems to hold true being a mid-size and havign the capability to compete import.
Mazda didnt just slap a turbo on its 2.3 and they didnt just change the body panels. This is a new car, not a new mazda6.

i really hope DIS works well in this platform. It's a great technology that once proven can really come down in price and find it's way into lesser platforms for more performance. I expect you'll see a de-tuned version of this exact same engine in the MS3 a year or so from now. if this one makes 274bhp expect 220-240bhp from the MS3 with fwd+lsd.

I checked out the new dealer in town on Sunday. they have a grand touring ms6 sitting outside (why not inside!!) - so gave the once, twice, thrice over... very nice... those are some huge wheels though.. sticker price $30k... what was odd... standard ms6 is $28k, they had normal m6's for $28k... why not just buy the speed?

a fully loaded 6S is about $28K and a base MS6 is $28K...some people dont understand the difference in powertrains.
In the late 80's ford made a 2.3L four cylinder in the mustang that was turbo'd and it was MUCH faster than the GT V8 version. They couldn't give them away. No'one understood that a 4 banger could be better than a V8 so the GT sold 5-1 over the SVO. Only now when people started learning about them have they become sought after.
p.s. I got an email from JimEllis Mazda offering me a new mazdaspeed6 at employee pricing. If I could sell my p5 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
