"The new RX-7
The new RX-7 has been confirmed as “coming soon”, by a lot of industry folks and automotive publications. We cannot confirm this, but RN does know that a product has been developed and is being considered for production,..."

Also, Mazda is trying to increase the variety of rotary engines in their vehicles. They want to add more cars with the rotary engine. One of the designs is called the RX-3, which is planned to be a sport coupe.

Wishful thinking...
Hmmm... if I were a website/magazine called Rotary News and had nothing new to report other than the RX-8, I would probably spend a lot of time speculating about future Mazda rotary products too.. whether or not I had any reliable information about their actual existence on the Mazda drawing boards.
Considering the corporate investment in the RX-8 platform and the new Renesis motor, I think it is likely that the 4th-gen RX-7 will ride on a shortened version of the RX-8 platform and share the same basic styling, and the Renesis will likely be hot-rodded by MazdaSpeed for both models. As for all other speculation, I am doubtful that rotary power is in the cards for either the 3/6 FWD platform or the Ford/Mazda truck platform. And though the idea of a companion RX-5 coupe for the coming 3rd-gen MX-5 roadster is an appealing one, I would imagine the cost would send the selling price into RX-8 territory.
So I guess we (and Rotary News) will just have to wait and see.

Didn't they used to make a rotary pickup, years ago?
BTW, at Morrie's Mazda they had a '74 RX-3 in the showroom a while back...I think they should start making those again, just like that...What a beautiful car!
