Mazda Clubs Spoetzl Brewery Run - Saturday May 5th 2007
May 5th several Miata and RX-Clubs across the Central Texas region will be making club runs to Shiner, TX to get together and support a good cause. The event is held at the Shiner brewery and there will be food, drinks and beer for all*. The brewery run coincides with the Shiner G.A.S.P bike ride and concludes at the brewery.
(*For a $20 donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation)
The Austin RX club and several other Miata/MX-5 clubs statewide are heading down there, who wants to go? We have already mapped out a great backroads route and expect to have plenty of fun along the way to and from Shiner.

Houston Area Meetup Details:
When: Saturday, May 5th 2007 - Meet at Whataburger located at 17480 W Grand Pkwy, Sugar Land, TX (Hw 59 @ 99/Grand Parkway) between 8:30 and 9 AM for breakfast. Drivers meeting at 9:15 AM and on the road by 9:30 AM !! Don't be late !! Please gas up before arriving as there will be no gas stops before leaving for Shiner and few along the way.
Everyone is welcome and remember this is not a contest of speed although there will be more than a couple of opportunities to test those redlines. There are a few planned regroup spots, so those who want to take it easy can do so as well.

You can check out the route here on maps.live.com

Oddly enough our drive is just under 120 miles total from the starting point (about 12 miles from my house), but if you map the shortest drive home back to 77074 it's just over 120 miles (via I-10). Not bad considering the out of the way route we take.
