16.04 @ 80 Mph

Got to run the MP3 again. Full tank of gas, nothing removed and ran 16.04 @ 80. What are the other MP3s running, that are stock?

I for one don't understand how people are getting 16 sec 1/4s at only 80 mph. You must have insane 60 foot times. My old 5-speed '98 Accord 4-cyl would go 80-82mph in the quarter, with a 17.3 e.t.

With a 16 flat, you should be at 85-88mph, unless you started the 1/4 being rear-ended by a semi. Or you got a 1.5 sec 60 foot time.

Maybe the 1/4 is a little short.

maybe this had somehting to do with it? the ratios are made fr 60 mph and th4en after that whatever...?
What you don't seem to understand is that 80 mph is fairly slow for a 16.0 1/4 mile. Most cars that can hit 80 mph in the 1/4 mile take much longer to get there. Most cars that can cover the 1/4 mile in 16 flat are going much faster than 80 mph. So, it's not the 80 mph number that doesn't make sense, it's actually a little low for an MP3, which most mags have at 16.5@84mph

Unless you stop accelerating before the end, a 16.0 should be closer to 88 mph. Unless the car got an incredible start, like a 2.1-2.2 sec 60 foot time, which would be truly impressive with street tires. As an example of this, have you ever seen drag race results and see those weird 10 sec @ 60 mph times? This is where the car breaks right after launching and coasts to the end. Great launch that carries the car to the end quickly, but with no top end.
