new best of 14.2@100

i just ran today at the track and my best was a 14.28@100

that has with the 50-shot from the Zex kit. I thought I could break a 13 for sure, but i'll have to try again another day. I think headers would really help make some power while spraying.

Not bad for a 1992 mazda 323 hatchback with just a KL-03 and 2.5-inch exhaust and a little spray. I didn't change anything, no tire pressures or take anything out of my car. Just drove the hour to the track and ran it.

That's a good run, especially with the KL-03! Did you do the swap yourself?

the traction at our track is really bad so I got really bad wheelhop and spin, still ran pretty consistant 2.2-2.3s. I'm thinking about getting a set of Nitto DRs with a little higher overall diameter, since I was having to go into 5th gear at the end of the track. When I finish getting the ZE rebuilt i'll be able to have power until 6800rpm or whatever, but right now I can really feel the fun stop at 6000.

The LSD is awesome is ripping through the corners, the car feels way more composed and there is no understeer when flooring it off the apex. I can't wait to get a stiffer rear sway bar to help that rear-end around some more. Winter will be fun this year.

I didn't do the swap, I took it to Jackson Autosport to do it. It was past my abilites as a mechanic.

congrats! I'll have to take mine to a track some day just to see what it can do before I start fooling with it.

Congrats, dude, sounds like an awesome car!!! I really really wanted to do the V6 swap, but the more I look at it, the more I'm swaying towards turbo Oh well, either way it will be awesome....

That kinda sucks about having to shift into 5th in the quarter.... I thought your trap was slightly high for the ET... probably the best 60' you could get on street tires is about a 2.1, so I think you're doing great!

the 100mph trap speed was while spraying a 50-shot on the V6. It was my first time at the track with the nitrous and the second day I had the LSD and new tires so I was still getting a feel for things. I'm hoping to break into the 13s.
