thanks for the tips....

btw, i'm gonna start using the 6 cyl oil filters. many say that it's better to do this, as it has a larger filtering capacity.

Not only does a larger filter give you more filter capacity, it also gives you a bit more oil capacity, I always believe more oil is longer lasting and safer as long as it stays within the min/max lines on the dipstick.

I have a friend that used to say you should use the used motor oil to lube the gasket. It sort of reminded me of the christmas yule log thing, where you save a bit of the old log to start the fire on the next christmas, to keep the same fire going.
Automotive voodoo, I guess. I personally lube with fresh motor oil, but I make a sign of the cross with a mixture of chicken blood and assembly lube on the filter at every oil change.
