'04 Mazda 3 woes...

Bought my wife a new-to-us '04 Mazda 3 sedan back in '05. Car has 52229 km's (sorry, I have no clue what that is in miles), had the transmission replaced under warranty earlier this summer (at 50000km's- 3 weeks before the warranty ran out!) and the car ran beautifully until today.

Today, the CEL pops on and stays on. Pull over and check all the fluids, everything is where it should be. No noticeable leaks anywhere (checked under, over...nada), car is running smoothly but the CEL will not come off. Full service was done at 50K km's (all fluids, filters etc...as per Mazda Canada's instructions to the dealership- as a warranty-fulfilling "oooops, sorry about that).

I'm concerned in that the car is running smoothly, but the CEL refuses to come off.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?

Cheers,

Jay

Did you just stop and get gas?

Go get the code read somewhere. It can light a CEL even if the gas cap is loose. I think it will be a P0442 code..........small evap leak. If it turns oout to be that code, make sure when you put the gas cap on, you make it click about five times.
