cracked head?
I read a simmilar post from this site that was never replyd, and so I will put my current issue up for comments please.
My 06 2.3 has a heat issue in the winter months but not in the warmer ones. When I first start it the temp gauge begins to climb up to the very hot zone and then normalizes after I drive for a few miles, now during this there is only cold air avail when the interior heat is turned on but after it (the temp gauge) comes down to normal I get heat except when I stop at a light or drop the rpms down low. theres no obvious change in the performance or engine that I can tell
any thought other than the horrible possiblity of a cylinder head replacment
Thanks Matt

cracked head would end up loosing coolant - the high temp when heating up is probably a stuck thermostat. This could cause issues with heat inside too - so repace the thermostat.
And it's been 4 yrs, at least change the fluid or flush the radiator system while you're at it.
