door locks
Hello there,
I have a 2001 protege and my power door locks are acting up.. I am having a hard time finding a service manual for the vehicle so I was wondering if any one out there knows the voltage I should be seeing at the door locks when they are activated.. I am seeing 6V, just wondering if I am supposed to have 12V? Please drop me a line if you have any info.
Thanks

my passenger door lock is not working either.
I hear the motor going and trying to lock the door, but its just making noise. and not doing anything. is this what you are hearing?
Maybe its something with the linkage or the motor for the lock went??
i dunno, i'm lost.

ok i found a solution. I took the door apart. There is a black activator inside the door panels in which there is a tiny gear that broke internally, thus not making the door open and creating an annoying noise. You just have to ask Mazda for the part from a dealer. I checked alot of junk yards and our car is hard to come by.

It was just the one lock on the right passenger door. The lock did not do anything when attempting to activate from the keypad. It make a grinding noise in any position up or down.
The way I locked the doors was through manually doing it myself.
