How do I replace the fog light in the Mazda 3 2008?
Last night some douche bag either shot out my fog light with a pellet gun or kicked it in, because of my veteran bumper stickers.
Anyway, I went to the dealership and they said it would cost $313.01 + $45 for installation fees, **** that.
So I figured I'd try to do it myself. I found a part here:
http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?Nt...7%204294965401
I own a Mazda3 5-door Grand touring 2008
As far as installation goes, I have no idea what to do. I am a totally newbie when it comes to this sort of thing. The only thing I can do is put windshield wiper fluid in and fill the gas tank. Sad I know, but that's the extent of my knowledge as far as cars go.
One of the lessons I learned in Iraq was, if you do **** yourself, you learn about the subject so much more.
So I was wondering if someone here knows how to accomplish this task, I don't wanna sound like a pansy, but I really need someone to hold my hand on this one. So if there's anyone out there who can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks

its not to bad... you might be able to get to the light from the underside. remove 4-6 screws from the baffleing and you should be able to get to the light from there. cant remember if there where screws holding the light in place or if it clips into the bumper. if it clips in you just need to do some pryingaround the light.
ide try doing it that way 1st...if you cant get to the light from there your gunna have to take the entire bumper lose.
if you have to do that there are 12-15 screws on the underside 3 clips in each wheel well 1 screw on each side drilled threw the bumper into the fenders and a few clips and screws on the topside under the hood between the headlights. then the bumper clips into the fender you just need to do a lil tugging on the bumper for it to come lose...
Good luck!

There is a relatively good diagram in the owners manual that shows the screws necessary for lamp replacement. Once you get the cover off I think it will be self evident.

Hello,
I have a similar problem as dude shmoo had. Same fog light with the same kind of damage. A fair amount of rocks fell off a dump truck on the interstate (it is now my policy to blow by those things as fast as possible, no matter who I cut off in the process). Funny stories aside, I haven't found that fog lamp assembly on the site he listed or any other. All I can find are the damn circular lamps. Does anyone have a suggestion? The dealership quoted me $313 for the part as well which is insane. I'll sooner buy a couple cheapos off the bay and replace them both.
