Leak Detection Pump

Leak Detection Pump
I have a 2007 Mazda 3 and my check engine light came on this week. I have 40K on the car. My dealer told me the leak detection pump needs to be replaced and will put me behind 815$.
Shouldn't this be covered under an emissions warranty? I can't believe that at 40K I would need something replaced. I also have my fuel pump go out after 22K. They replaced that under warranty.
Any help, appreciated!

Fuel Detection Pump
I have a 2007 Mazda 6 & my check light came on as well at ~40k miles. I failed inspection. Mazda told me it may just be loose. Cost repairs $366. I went to an auto mechanic, he can only get part from Mazda - repair cost $399. Mechanic told me this part does not affect the operation of the vehicle AT ALL. Guess it is just a way to make money for Mazda. Not happy at all.

diagnostic trouble code. every time the check engine light comes on there will be at least one DTC set in the car's computer. That code tells you what the computer thinks is wrong, and therefore points you to potential problem sources.
