Map light issue

I'm having trouble with the map lights in my 2010 Mazda3 iTouring. The passenger side light works intermittently when the main switch is in the door position. When the switch is on or when the individual light is pressed it works fine. Just my luck, the light worked fine in all positions when I took it to the dealer so they could not duplicate the problem. Is this happening to anyone else? I would like to get this resolved before the warranty expires.

I haven't pulled my map light apart, but i'd think it was just a loose connectin. It could be as simple as a connector that isn't fully seated from the factory install.
Oh - one thing on mine is that the switch turns the light on hard, where the door open dims on... so it could be a bad driver connection wherever the control module is. I'd guess the passenger junction box that's behind / under the glove box - see if those connections are all tight too.
I've got an 07, but i've got the service manuals too, so if you need help where connections are located instead of poking around on your own, please let me know.
