The 05 reliability reports are in the April 06 issue of "Consumer Reports"...

In all categories the Mazda3 scored much better than average, the highest rating, except in two:

Fuel
Body Integrity

In those two it scored above average which means 2-5% of people reported problems.

Its' used car verdict was the highest rating of "much better than average" and its new car prediction better than average

Thus, the Mazda3 once again was "Consumer Reports Recommended" with high scores in handling, fuel economy, interior quality and turning circle.
It scored lower in road noise, small trunk, IIHS side-crash test w/o side or curtain air bags.

Great job MAZDA keep it up!

 

I noticed that C.R. gave the ford fusion amazing marks for overall condition and rde quality and then somehow failed to give thew same score to it's cousin the 6S.....That's like buying a pair of shoes and saying, "The left show is great it excells in every catagory. The right shoe is below standards."

They're the same just about.

 

True, but CR, like C&D and Motor Trend will always be biased toward the American
manufacturer whenever it can reasonably spin it that way.
Yes, the magazines respect a well-made vehicle no matter its origin. But the bottom line is, they are going to give domestic love at every opportunity.
