Mazda 3 change/reverse gears. Pollen Filter.
Hi!
We bought an automatic 2012 Mazda 3 last Wednesday around 2pm (Not a Mazda dealership). Took it for a short drive - less than 30kms. Got home, took the keys out to unlock the fence gates, got back in and couldn't change the gears. Eventually turned the car off then back on and was able to change gears.
We took the car back to the car yard on Wednesday morning and were advised that is a 2012 Mazda 3 issue. Said to put foot on brake before turning the car on, keep foot on brake while changing gears which worked at that time.
Then on Thursday & Friday when we went out it was inconsistent actions to change gears. Even just sitting in a car park with the car running after driving, I couldn't change gears to get out of the car! What is wrong with this car that needs fixing whilst it's still under warranty please?
We read the manual and it says we need to use a cloth covered flat screwdriver to press a button down. But what is this? Is it a permanent issue? What needs to be repaired?
Also, the pollen filter. It REEKS of air freshener or something which comes through the air conditioner. They're going to clean it out but would that resolve the issue or should it be fully replaced?
Love our new car, but have we bought a blue lemon?!
Thanks
Cath
