Tire size to rim size
I just bought new 205/50 w17 tires that go on the stock 17 x 7 rims of the 3. I just found a good deal on rims and they are 17 x 7.5...can these still fit the tires i just bought????????

it'll fit....the tires might stretch a bit, you can go from 205s to 215s. i think 50 series would be too big for the car...maybe you should go with 40 or 45 series.
do you know what's the offset of the wheels?

not fair....
I'll like to buy new rims for my mazda but the guys in the warranty deparment say that if i change "anything of the original design of the mazda 3 i 'llvoid the warranty in that part" meaning if i get new rims ill void the suspension warranty... its the same were you live?

but in the future....i recommend to get new tires maybe in the 45 or 40 series, just cause i think 50 series would look very thick and will make your rims look smaller.

One thing to consider.
50 series are still considered normal profile and pretty much anywhere can mount them.
45 series are considered low profile and you may have to take them to a tire shop and pay $75 per tire to get them mounted.
Luckily I got Falken Ziex-512s in 225/45/17 and Walmart was able to mount em at $5 each. It kinda depends on how stiff the sidewalls are.
Mine are sitting on 17x7 +38
car is not lowered at all

thanx for the help guys... i didnt want to get new tires right now bc i just spent alot on my new ones just over a month ago. i got 50 series again because my uncle who works at tire rack told me if i get rims in the future that it would protect them like if i hit a pot hole or big bump. but once i get used to havin nice rims, my new set of tires will most likely be 45 or 40! thanx again

Here is a website that i found while searhing for some tires to put on my new rims that i got. I got some ADR M-Sport glossy black 17". This site is pretty cool because it tells you what the speedometer reading is and and how fast you are actually going with your new tires on. But still, i am going to ask the people that are going to install the tires what is the best fit for my car. Atleast it gave me an idea what to look for. I hope it helps you all.

that warranty is pretty much the same here in burlington (ON, Canada)....the guy says i can change the rims, but they have to stay the same size, (15") and i have to use the stock tires....im guessing for the tread wear cuz im only leasing it
