What is it with these Mazda cars?
All Mazda owners I have seen and met on this forum absolutely love their Mazda, I haven't seen anyone who said their car is OK or bad.
Compare this to lets say another Japanese car the Mitsubishi, some owners say great, other say it's not bad or ... I mean you have a range of opinions with Mazda's owners only have one opininion, ITS WONDERFUL how come?

I wouldn't say that. Some might just join to research ideas. I personally was raised on Mazdas so I'm Mazda for life. I've had an 85 626, a 99 protege, an 02 protege5, an 03 6, an 06 6, and now a 07 3. My dad has had an 85 GLC, and 3 miatas. my little brother had a 92 MX-6 and now an 06 6. My older brother had a 93 MX-3 and an 86 626, and now my mom has joined in with her 08 CX-9 as well as my fiancee with her 08 CX-7. And yes, all these came from the same dealer, so I guess my family has put their kids through college.

eggynatey, thay video is really funny
OK, it's clear that all of you are "serial mazda drivers" who have been dedicated to Mazda for years.
My Mazda 3 2008, is my first and I love it except for one thing; it's ground clerance is'nt enough for the speed-bumps and pot-holes in this country.

U can say it grows on u!!! At first, I was debating between a mazda 3 hatch or toyota matrix. Well my wife loved the mazda for everything ranging from style to features. Apparently she was right. Now I love this car and im really glad we went for the mazda instead of the toyota (even tho my whole family loves toyota).

I love my Mazda too!
Hey Everyone,
I feel the same way about my Mazda. I have a 2005 SP23 hatchback which I bought used on Ebay of all places. :-) I was looking for a smallish hatchback and really didn't even consider Mazda initially. I have owned many toyota's, and while they're not as flashy, they are very reliable. However it was between the Matrix and the Mazda 3. The Matrix was like every other Toy I have owned, and would likely be mechanically very reliable. However, no frills, cheap interior and frankly, the prices of the toyota's has gone up so much that I just don't see the value any more. The only advantage was the gas mileage. Which is my one complaint with the Mazda 3, but it's me who's averaging 85mph to work these days. :-)
As I said, this is my first and just stepping into a fully loaded 3, you realize immediately, there is no other car company (except maybe the altima?) which will give you the options you want in their smallest cars. I buy small cars because I like how they handle, not because they are cheaper. However, I'm always stuck with no cruise control or power windows. Not this time. Bose stereo, leather seats, sunroof, in a 3! Fair to mention I have the SP23 which has all of the frills, but all of these items are optional to Mazda. Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy(cobalt maybe?), forget it! You will be doing good to get AC.
The handling of this car is on par with BMW's. I have kicked the asses of a number of 325's on the freeway and even gave a 540 a run for its money. People are just shocked at how this car accelerates. The stock brakes are very good if not great, and the engine is as smooth as silk. This car is a steal at it's price and if you like a little pep, you will love it!
Mazda owes me a few bucks in commision now becuase I have converted over 4 people in the last year alone since I bought this thing. A buddy of mine bought a speed 3 which is almost too much for me. The torque steer is a little out of control too, but it's front-wheel so you are going to get this issue on any car.
Anyway, I'm hooked now! This will not be me last Mazda, that's for sure!
Thanks!

Zoom zoom, that's why...
I have a 3 and a 93 RX7. Just to give you an idea and in spite of all the stories you hear about the 7, keep this in mind: mine is 17 years old as it was put on the road in April 1992. I have purchased it 2.5 years ago.
There is no rust on the car. everything is as tight as new. All interior pieces look new, feel new, are solidly in place. All buttons, lights, and switches work like a charm. I recently installed a boost controller and had to tear off parts of the dash, so I figured, what the heck, I'll change all the light bulbs, and I did. However, the ones in there were all still working.
The car pulled 1G on a skidpad back in 93 with 93 stock suspension and tires. I recently read a supercar shootout and none of the cars in there managed to pull 1G, even though they were running on much more sophisticated tires and with more electronic assist than you can shake a stick at.
The engine is running strong and I have only replaced the turbos, as the seals were not holding oil well any longer. I forgot to tell you that when you drive that car you feel you are in control of an airplane. It is sharp, fast, perfectly balanced and it has this way of making you feel that you are one with it. It looks amazing 17 years later and it is a timeless piece of design that achieves the proverbial "there's nothing you can add or take away that would not ruin the car".
I just bought a 3. I have a 1 year old Jetta. Both well designed cars, the Jetta is more on the classic side, while the 3 is trendier. For what I paid for the 3 (1500 $ less than the Jetta) I got 6 speaker stereo, bluetooth with hands free phone that has a pile of features, steering wheel mounted audio/phone/cruise controls, a 6 speed gearbox, 16" alloys, sunroof and 6 speed tranny as opposed to 5, light-sensing lights, rain-sensing wipers (stuff the Jetta doesn't have). The interior looks upper scale compared to the VW, especially cloth on the seats, and the dash (the Jetta base doesn't come with a centre armrest with box either). The 3 I have has the 2.5L engine and it has a great punch for its size. The handling is surprisingly good, the car feels a lot less understeering than the Jetta and overall -although approximately weighing the same- the 3 feels like a feather when you start changing directions fast.
I think we love our Mazdas because they are made by people who think like us and make cars the way we feel a car should be made...

In interesting point is that Matsudas (they changed their name to Mazda because they didnt think us English speaking folk could comprehend), are all made and assembled in Japan. thus, quality control is better. Toyota, Nissan etc are now built in the states such as in NC, using Union workers who slack. Now....which would you choose?
Mazda also has a great testing program with their road and race cars, and use their race technology to put in their road cars. Look at Laguna Seca, the famouse Mazda raceway. they also competed in Lemans 24 hrs race with their 787 rotary engined car and WON. I'd say Mazda is doing what Audi is doing. Using their racing and testing and putting that technology in their road cars. Audi has won the 24 hrs Lemans since 2000 up until today (the Bentley that won during that run was in fact an Audi R8 chassis modified, because Bentley did not have a proper Lemans vehicle). Development, research, running a car at brutal full capabilities for 24 hours and survives and then some...that is how you learn and build vehicles and build them to excel on the road.

Hey guys, I haven't been on here for quite some time and I saw this post so I decided to add my .02
My very first car was (and still is) a mazda.
Intially I wanted something like a civic but I'm glad I got the mazda. It's a 99 protege by the way. Over the years I've done quite a few mods to it and like everyone would say, it's a very fun car to drive. I just love driving my car and with the suspension mods as well as other minor engine mods I've done to it makes it even more fun to drive.
The fact that people hear would see a mazda on the road and think it's got nothing on them, they think twice when they see what it can do. I've run with subaru legacys (turbo version), civics and even accords. I just love the look on some peoples faces when they know that they've been had by a mazda!
I've driven other cars but none came close to what you get with a mazda. And as some of you mentioned, the value you get from a mazda just makes sense (pun intended).
I'm thinking about getting the new mazda speed3. Just need to do some research to find out if they come in 4wd. Currently my pro is 4wd, it's bery unique and unlike any other mazda where I'm from.
