So there I was, trying to figure the "throatier" sound coming out of my 05 Mazda 3 w/ just over 100K miles on it. I'm thinking it's perhaps tied to the exhaust manifold gasket. I mean it's idling fine, just had the clutch replaced and along with that the passenger side motor mount, fresh oil change, what can it be. I decide to take it for a short drive around my block and just before getting back onto my short street, WALLA! The car stops...I open the hood and my engine is "listing" down on the drivers side, motor mount no longer connected to the motor. AARRGHHH! Charlie brown and kites doesn't describe my relationship with this car over the past 4 months.

So the question is...has anyone on the ol' bloggosphere experienced something similar, have background in repair costs, anything? Nothing's leaking at this time, but the left side main drive was yanked free...not sure of any other damage yet...still pulling stuff off to get a good look see.
