'08 Sub Woofer Malfunction
Just bought an '08 Speed3 GT. The subwoofer with the premium Bose sound system (6-disc changer) keeps cutting in an out. I suspect it is a malfunction with the ALS as high acceleration or de-acceleration seems to trigger the bass drop. Very noticeable at high volume levels. The ALS is set to "off".
Anyone have similar problems?

Known issue, simple fix : essentially you take it in, they check the firmware to verify issue, order new one, week(s) later it comes in,you take it in and in < 1hr should have the car back better than ever.
Had this problem on my sedan. On my non-premium audio 08.5 3 I found a marked improvement in audio quality (default EQ setting much better) also, I could almost have sworn they installed a small sub as I had weak to no bass before.

UPDATE: I went to the dealer this weekend to get the unstable volume level fixed, and am told the repair part(s) are on back order from Mazda. No idea how long it will take to get the part in. I guess I sit and wait. I guess the back ordr makes sense - it sounds like this problem affects many new 2008 cars with the premium Bose 6-CD changer system installed.
