Is anyone an expert in operating the "manual shift" for the AT transmission. Please educate my automatic easy does it self.

If you are looking for faster acceleration from your automatic just live it in "D" all the time. It's ALWAYS faster than trying to manually shift it. Also, with the manu-matic shifting you risk damaging expensive pieces.

Saying that makes it sound like a piece of crap and pointless... Just another reason to charge more for the automatic over manual.

The auto stick is pretty pointless for faster acceleration. It is somewhat useful if you want to go out on the track. It will allow you to keep the car in a lower gear at a high RPM without the "tranny" deciding to always go for 4th or 5th. Helps keep the platform stable.

Keep in mind the gear ratios with an Auto are not the best so I would not buy it just for this feature.

If you don't mind getting the manual get the manual. faster accel, better MPG.

I have the auto and never use the auto stick unless I'm bored. But it sure is nice when i'm trying to eat a donut, drink a coffee, and talk a cell phone. While i'm stuck in traffic
