2005 Mazda 3 AC Problem
I have a 2005 Mazda 3 GS. The AC stopped working a couple of months ago. I took it to my personal mechanic who tends to service Hondas predominantly. He checked the coolant level and said that it was a couple of ounces short. He charged the coolant, and the AC still didn't work. He then checked the compressor and it wasn't engaging so he checked to see if it was an electrical issue where power wasn't being supplied to the compressor. When he did this, the compressor engaged so he doesn't think it's the compressor. He's not 100% sure what it is but thinks it might be an issue with the ground so the electrical circuit is not complete, thus no power is being supplied to the compressor.
Anybody have any experience with this sort of AC prolem? My mechanic is askng me to leave my car with him to crete a physical ground bypass to see if this would work instead of trying to trace the line to see where the broken circuit could be. Does this make sense to anybody.
