2005 Mazda 3 electrical fault
Hi All,
I have a 2005 mazda 3 Ts2 1.6 Diesel. Last week I suspected the battery was going flat as the clock re-set to 00:00 & the odometer went back to 0.0. Also all the radio stations were lost. Later that afternoon the centtral locking from the key fob would not work, the radio had died completly along with the time & temperture display panel. Also when turning the car on the speedo, rev counter, fuel & temp gauge went upto top limits. The internal lights dont work either. I have tested the battery, this is good & the alternator is charging. I have also checked all fuses inside the car & under the bonnet, none apper to be blowen. I read somehwere about resetting the body control module by disconnecting the battery & touching the leads together for 30 seconds. I have tried this but nothing changed. Anybody had anything similar?

Has any electrical work been done recently? Change of the cabin air filter or any other service? Given the global nature of the problems, and most of them being electrical I would check out the PJB (passenger junction box).... the inside fuse box under the glove compartment. Check all your fuses (I realize you say you already did that), unplug every connector on the top and the bottom, reseat them and then push down the locking arm (it's very important to not just stick them in place and let the arm pull them down). It's possible the entire PJB is bad.

Thanks for the reply, I removed the whole PJB & checked all the connector. All seamed ok. I cant see thats theres a lot that can go wrong with this thou? seems pretty well built & some of the fuses going out still power devices on the car, horn etc.
Any other ideas?

Hi there! I am having the EXACT same issues with my car. Everything seems to be freaking out. Did you ever find out what the issue was? I took my car to a mechanic and they actually sent me to the dealership because they had no idea. The dealership has my car now, but he said he had never seen something like this before. Any details with what was wrong with your car would be great! Thanks!
