2008 Mazda 3s 2.3L Engine Cover

Hello all. I've got a question that has simply been driving me crazy trying to get an answer. The worst part is it should be a very easy answer.
I bought a used 2008 Mazda 3 sport 5-door automatic the other week. The engine cover was missing and I was able to get the dealer to get me one. I think he took it off of a 2007 5-speed. Anyways, there are two plastic studs that come up from the engine and mate perfectly with two retention holes in the cover (at the rear of the cover). The front of the cover has two metal clips that I don't appear to have anything for them to clip onto. This make the cover "floppy" at the front. Is this normal? Is there something different about the engine cover he gave me from a 2007 that makes it not "fit" at 2008? Am I missing some other hardware? I understand it's just for looks, but it bugs me.

Thanks for any help anyone can give!

Mike

the front clips should line up with hoses to clip on. If it came off the 2L and not a 2.3L, that may be the issue

I guess that's quite possible. I really want to find the correct one - like I said it bugs me. Thanks for the reply!
