2 years and 26,000 miles later my wife totalled our 2012 Mazda3 iTouring w/SkyActiv. It was a great car but we have since replaced it with a 2011 Mazda6 iTouring Plus. We like the ride better in the six but will miss the great MPG in the three.

 

Don't they have the same engine?

 

No, the 3 had the 2.0 liter SkyActiv and the 6 has the 2.5 liter non SkyActiv. Big difference in MPG.

 

Congrats on the new car and I hope your wife is OK after the wreck.

 

It was a head-on collision at an intersection in town so neither person was going too fast. Fortunately neither driver had injuries thanks to the crumple zone on the Mazda that did what it is supposed to do. It was a great little car and we already miss the beautiful blue color.
