Air Conditioning on the 3

Bad Air Conditioning System in the Mazda 3's
I have a 2006 Mazda 3 and the air conditioning hasn't worked right since the first year. I've had it in the shop 6 times in 4 years, and I've heard the same thing every time, "We can't duplicate the problem". Mazda dealers are a JOKE to deal with. As we speak, my car is at the Heritage dealership on Bel Air Rd. I had the service guy ride with me for 20 minutes. It almost took that long for the car to cool off (42 degrees), then we stopped at a red light and the temperature went up to 58 degrees. AND HE TELLS ME THAT"S NORMAL!!! I don't know what kind of car he drives but, I've had 6 cars in my life time and that's NOT normal. I told him that there are plenty of people dissatisfied with the air conditioning system on the Mazda 3's and he told me that's not true or they would have a recall on it. WHY don't they have a recall on the Mazda air conditioning system, BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE!!! Bottom line. I don't know about you but I will NEVER buy another Mazda.

2008 Mazda 3 AC replacement
Had my AC compressor seize up on the way home last week in South Carolina with the temperature around 98 and a bunch of humidity. Nice 50 mile drive!!! I couldn't find after market parts and took it to a Mazda dealer near Charlotte, NC. They wouldn't cover it under the warrenty because even though the car was within the 3 year bumper to bumper it had 60K on it so they wouldn't cover it. Bogus IMHO. Interestingly I looked at the dealers parts department the night before to prepare me for the sticker shock. The maintenance guy came out and quoted the prices for parts and labor and all the parts were 20% more!. He said I was looking at the internet price and I would have to pay the regular price. That didn't fly at all and I got the 20% internet price and 10% off labor. Still costs $1200. I filed a warrenty claim with Mazda corporate and they wouldn't cover the whole bill but are sending me a check for 50% of the total bill. Still believe Mazda should have picked up the whole cost but I'll settle for the $600.00. Beware buying parts from the dealer and always check the internet first.
