Auto or manual?

Hey all, I'm new to the forum. I'm thinking of buying a 3s hatch in the next few months. I've only recently gotten really interested in cars, so up until now I've only ever driven an automatic. Now I really want to learn to drive stick, and I want to get the 3 in stick. Now my question. Is the manual 3 easy to get the hang of? Any opinions on how easy it would be for a beginner to learn?

Thanks a ton for all the help! I'm really looking forward to this car!

Mazda manual trannies are very easy to drive...very smooth, very soft clutch, good smooth shifter.

Do yourself a favor: If you're concerned about speed buy the manual and don't EVER look back.

p.s. Good choice with the 3S.

Thank you very much! That's EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear

I've been looking around for a while, trying to figure what the best value would be, and when I saw the 3 and sat in it...I was in love. I just didn't think I'd be doing the car justice with an auto (too boring).

Are there any good sites offering after market parts for the 3 at this time?

Thanks again for the reply
