is it cold air intakes, the mods, on the car that would be real bad if driven in the rain?

you would drown your engine. right?

hydrofreeze or stop?

oh... if you wait for the V2 to come out... aem says it has dual piping on the inside so that it creates soundwaves... this is what AEM said to this FAQ: Can I use an AEM Bypass Valve with the V2?
Answer: AEM V2 Intake Air Induction Systems utilize a dual chamber to create multiple frequency sound waves. The installation of the AEM Bypass Valve would disrupt the tuning of these systems. Therefore the bypass valve should not be used.

yes, that is true, do not use a CAI if you are always in rainy weather... because the CAI is placed by the front grill so that it can suck in as much air as possible and when it is sucking in that air, if its raining, its also taking in that water... imagine it like if you were to go under water and breathed in through your nose... sucks right? ya..

no v2 is in development for the mazda 3

and no. it's not a problem for rain and snow.. unless you like to drive your car thru 3 feet deep puddles. You will NOT hydrolock from rain. If your streets are flooded, you shouldn't be driving anyways.

Check Ebay...Injen and AEM charge way too much for some polished piping and a cone filter.

A modification will not void your warranty unless the modification itself caused the problem

You will not hydrolock your engine unless you run through water that is WAY too deep...use common sense people

AEM bypass is worthless...If you install one it will guard against hydrolock, but you also lose any gains made from the CAI

A CAI will give you about a 3-4 WHP(wheel horsepower gain)

and the whole story about "putting stock parts back on after my mod caused a problem" , that is why Mazda will so easily deny the rest of our legitimate claims for warranty work

why are you a lawyer?
Did the AEM set off your CEL?
Does the car have a lot more pick up with the intake?

no not a lawyer...it wont void any warranty..... the AEM will eventually set off ur CEL if u dont losen the wires to your MAF. Just cut the plastic thats creating the tension to the MAF...adjust it to where the wires can move without any tension and tape it back up....you should have no problems. Low end torque has deminshed some but you can really feel the high end gains above 4000rpm
