Question curious...what did you guys pay for your 3?

this is kind of like a prepurchase thread....i'm very much interested in purchasing the 3 and just wanted to see what existing owners paid for theirs. mazda is running a nice 0% APR financing deal right now...but i'm still torn over whether or not to get the civic LX coupe instead. my daily commute is 60 miles so i reckon i would save a lot of gas money on the civic, not to mention insurance, and it is about $1000 cheaper to boot. anyone gone through a similar experience?

please include year, model, body, trim, transmission, additional options, state, price before tax (include any tradeins to this price)

example:

2007, 3, 4dr, s, man, SAB+SAC, NY, 17,300

I bought mine for 14,000.

but it doesnt have power anything, and it has no a/c. pretty much bare bones model.

but it gave me alot of room for improvement and making the car my own =].

thoughts on the 3 vs Civic

I like my 3. It handles well. It looks cool. But if it comes down to money, get a Civic LX or Matrix (not an XRS). They are both cheaper to buy and cheaper to own (better fuel economy). I usually get 30 with mixed driving. Driving highway I once got 33mpg. I don't know how these people get 38. And yes, I have a manual. I don't put on a ton of miles. I bought mine in March of '05 and just turned 38K. So fuel economy doesn't matter as much to me.

16,800 for mine bought in Jan 06 (last new 05 in sacramento) Its the hatchback. Interestingly, i recently searched local dealerships in the nor cal area for comparable vechicles with fairly close miles (17k on mine) and most were selling for high 18-20k. i also noted a week later there were none available. so for me unbeatable value.....mine has the sunroof , all power goodies, etc. my partner wants one and we looked at 08's coulldnt find a hatch locally under 18k. As for econ. i have the auto stick....a bit of a lead foot though, butstill get roughly 24mpg. on trips i can usually squeeze out close to 300 miles on a fillup...so close to 30mpg.

HI there, im in Illinois. I bought my Mz3 hatch aurora blue about early march 07. Sticker price was 20,800, my frist car and first loan, they put me at 8.9% rate. ( i dont know if this is a good rate) Not sure what i paid for the car but im at 275 a month for 72moths with 6k down. No problems with the car so far and i love it, only thing is.... do not park next to soccer mom that is driving SUV, they DING your car!
Getting about 320 to 360 a full tank of gas .. thats when the low fuel alarm goes off.
Been driving alot, Got it on March 3rd, i have about 6900 miles and it is only end of July. I love the car tho

You can wait for the new ford focus too.. will have the same engine etc. . like the mazda 3, atleast thats what my uncle told me that works for ford. Might be cheaper.

When i was looking for new car i was comparing Matrix, Rabbit and the Mazda, i picked Mazda, why? looks and the inside is nice. Reviews are GREAT!

2007 Mazda3 HB Sport Aurora Mica Blue ( ilove the color)
All weather Mat
Fog lights
Sun roof
6 cd changer ( i wish it plays mp3)
wheel locks

Those are the options that came with the car..

Further question, H.harvy@sbcglobal.net
