Engine Noise From Auxiliary Jack
Hello Everyone!
This is my first post on Mazda3 club.com.
I just bought a 2007 Speed3 and I notice when I plug in my little XM Inno radio into the center console auxiliary jack I get an engine "whirring" noise that comes through my speakers whenever I'm driving. The audio would sound great if it wasn't for that darn engine noise. Anyone know what's causing this and what can I do to solve the problem? Maybe a bad cable or something? I would hate to have to take this back to the dealer to have it looked at.
Thanks a lot!!

i plug my ipod in with the aux jack. The whirring happens to me when the ipod is plugged in but not when its running off battery power. I don't know if that helps at all but I figured I'd put in my .02

Yes - you are right. I just tried playing my Inno with battery power only and it sounded great with no interference. Then, when I used any of the two electrical jacks the noise came back. Pretty funky design on Mazda's part if you ask me - sounds like a bad grounding issue. I wonder if I took my radio to Circuit City and just had them hardwire the unit, bypassing the jacks, if that would solve the problem?

You guys need a "ground loop insulator"
