Fastest Speed3

Has anyone ran their Speed3? What's the fastest anyone has hit so far? I know the car is supposed to run a 14.3 bone stock according to Car And Driver but let's get some real life info from ppl that have done it.

You know if that's stock or modded?

Has to be modded. Stock hits low 15's I think. But mods make a huge difference to that engine.

Downpipe alone gives what, 30whp?

no i think stock has hit 13.8 but mostly around 14.1-14.4

speed3 not normal 3

cold air intake and down pipe from what i know are the best power mods
and ets top mount intercooler

Granted the engine is restricted very very much it's really hard to squeeze 30whp out of one mod. I'd have to see dyno sheets to prove that number.

This is what I was saying. I read 14.3 in an article from Car and Driver but was wondering if anyone on this forum had done any better. CAI isn't really a big power adder. It's just a way of opening up air ways and helping the motor breathe a little better which in turn does add performance but not what everyone makes it out to be. I agree with the intercooler part tho. Especially matched with a CAI and an exhaust system. I think that would put the car in the 13s.

people are seeing decent gains with the cold air intake only, its a very restrictive part in our vehicles, ive seen anywhere from 10-25 hp on a intake, and 10-25lbs of torque on the forums, unfortunally i cant find the dyno's right now, on a tmic people are seeing around 20 hp and 20lbs of torque, but i dont know if thats only the tmic or with the cold air intake and tmic, but probally just the tmic, stock. the forums ive been on for a while, for some reason are only dating back to 05/10/07 right now? so i cant help you with the dyno for the cold air intake.

im sure it all depends on the dyno/weather/climate, so its hard to say unless you dyno stock then cold air intake the same day same dyno, and even still the weather could change the dyno readings if dynoed a couple hours after each other, this is what ive gathered reading all the forums.

Yeah I see what you're saying. The intake system is always restrictive on vehicles in this day and age. But like I say in my experience with the MSP and Civics I would have to see dyno sheets to prove any stated hp gain before believing it. I guess just listening to everyone say that they've added x amt (usually outrageous) of hp to a vehicle with CAI, header, and exhaust I've kinda got to where I need proof before I can buy into anything.

Hmm, I don't have proff on the downpipe, I just remember Roddiums saying he had a gain like that on his Speed 6 with the mod.

Both using the same engine right?
