Fog lights in 2008 hatchback versus sedan

I really hope someone can answer this question for me. I have a 2008 mazda 3 GT sedan with a cracked drivers side fog light. I found a used oem replacement fog light on ebay from a 2008 mazda 3 hatchback (not round fog lights, kind of rectangular in shape). Does anyone know if the 2008 hatchback fogs are the same dimensions as the 2008 sedans? I have searched all over the net and have not found anything that states they are identical.

Thanks,
Rob

Unfortunately no. The rectangular shape came with a very minor facelift in 07 for the hatch. The 04-06 had round ones with H11 bulbs, but still, I dont believe they'll fit.

Mazda really pulled a big risk making the hatch and 4 door versions very very different, not sharing any body panels etc. I think it was a really good move on their part. Great job Matsuda (I wish they kept that name instead of naming it Mazda since they thought English speaking countries couldn't comprehend it).

Also another great thing to know about these cars....they are built entirely in Japan, unlike all the other Japanese makes that now have factories in the US. Thus quality control IMO is great.
