Ford Discount on Mazda3..HELP!
Hello everyone!
New to this site as I am heavily considering an '08 Mazda3 at the end of my lease (SOON! ) I live in MI and have the ability to use the Ford Discount thru a friends father. My questions is: Does Ford still offer this discount to friends of their employee's as GM has gotten rid of this, hence why I am moving over to a Mazda. Second question: What is that discount, is it a percentage off or lump sum taken off the total. here is what I want..

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance

you dont need to do anything but research your car before you go in. If they have the exact car you want on the lot go get a copy of the window sticker and take it home. Use edmunds.com to re-build that vehicle and find out what the invoice is on it.
Offer them $250 under invoice, if they turn it down walk out. Don't be rude just say, "Ok bye. I'm going to the next dealer to talk to them." That gets them everytime because they only get 1 shot at getting you in the door. If they let you go somewhere else they suck.
p.s. Dealers receive 4% (mazda) of the vehicles MSRP, not selling price, for every vehicle sold. Plus they get incentives on top of that for moving specific #'s. Also, if the car has been on the lot for several months they are more willing to deal.
You should go to the dealer on about the 28-29th of the month later in the afternoon around dinner time and preferably when it's raining. Have them bring you something to eat if the process is being drawn out.
DO NOT QUOTE THEM A MONTHLY PAYMENT OF WHAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE PAYING. This is a scam. Just haggle the price of the car, your trade and financing separately. If you can't handle the payment when it's all said and done you need another car.

When I bought my car, I was eligible for the S-plan because of where I work, but was able to get a much better price by negotiating my own deal.
I agree with Roddimus. Unless you live somewhere with only one dealer, shop around and let the dealers compete for your business.

CivilZeus, by any chance do you have a AAA card? If so, go through a dealer that has a AAA person there and they should get you a pretty sweet deal. I got my 2007 Mazda 3 S Sport with a 2.3Liter engine for $17,000. (list price in california) If not, try costco, a credit union, etc...

You can use S-plan still as a Ford employee...
Haggling is going to be VERY difficult on a Mazda3...
Dealers are not having a problem selling them, pretty much every one hitting the lot is getting sold....

S-plan should be availabe for Mazda 3
I bought mine in May under the S-plan, but I found different dealers (having different overhead rates) were giving me slightly different "invoice plus $$" numbers . I went to three dealers but got mine at the one who offered the car at invoice. Period.
As a side note, I do see a 0% APR offer for 3 years (through MAC) for the 2007 cars good until 10/31, so you might want to take that deal rather than financing on your own. The 2008 cars show an offer for 1.9% for 3 years. Either way it is a sweet deal.
