front hood paint chips

front hood paint chips
Hi
I just bought a used 2011 Mazda 3 GX, copper red colour. The car is generally in great condition and fun to drive. My only concern is that there a bunch of very small paint chips on the hood and front bodywork area (the metal bodywork close to the ground/grill). They aren't noticeable until you look very closely at the car. I have patched the chips on the hood with paint, but there are too many imperfections/small chips on the front- below grill areas to fix them. I applied 2 layers of protective wax this past week (I live in Calgary- cold winters). Is this normal for a 1.5 year old car to have? There is no rust... But I am worried it might create future body work problems. Any other things to do to protect the paint?
