Have a question about bumper on a 2006 Mazda 3 Hatchback
Hi!
I found a used 2006 Mazda 3 Hatchback (only 56,000km) and fell in love with it. It's at an amazing price for $8900.00 (plus tax), but there is one problem, it was in an accident. I don't know how bad, but the front bumper had to be replaced.
Questions I have:
1) I saw and drove the car, VERY smooth ride, and the colour of the bumper matched perfectly with the car but it wasn't on right completely. It was a pretty good fit, but you could see that the original colour of the bumper was red. Will this cause problems internally for the car later on? (The look doesn't matter, it wasn't bad actually, but I want to know if that should be a concern, as far as rusting, or the paint chipping any more, and if water/salt will sneak into the engine somehow).
2) Anything specific I should look at when buying a used Mazda 3?
Thanks!

Well, I think I just answered my own question.
If anyone is interested, I carproofed the vehicle and it had a SALVAGE/REBUILT status on it. The estimated damage was $12,000 (around 4 yrs ago). So, I think that's why the hood didn't stick on right, lol.
Anyone else have any experience with REBUILT cars?...bad/good?
Thanks.
