Hi everyone....
Just wanted to say hello and get aquainted with my first post. Looks like you guys have a great board here. This morning I added to stable which already included a 2003 Cobra and I purchased a Mazda 3, S, Hatchback with the works. It will be my business car and the cobra takes the weekends. So far I love the 3! It's not 400 Horsepower, but it wasnt designed to be. I think Mazda has hit a homerun with this car.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and contributing in some small way.....Doug

As to the other question posted - yes I do have the nav system, I love it. I used to work for IBM Global Services and travelled a great deal. We always rented from Hertz which had neverlost GPS available and I went to all kinds of places I'd never been before and the neverlost rocked! So far the mazda system seems great too.
I asked if anyone had any other info on the video input to the GPS screen.....dont think there has been a reply yet - but Im actually going to do a little exploratory work this weekend behind the dash to check it out. If I can come up with a good way to be able to play regular dvds I will take pictures and detailed notes. There really isnt a way to crack the installed dvd rom drive so the easiest route is going to be finding the video input, installing a recessed switch and purchasing the smallest portable dvd player I can find, then hook up the audio to an in car transmitter to play over the radio. I cant be that complicated, I just have a wish that I will find a regular rca video plug going into the back of the rom drive - but thats way to easy to ask for. I will update my findings after this weekend. And I guess I'll go ahead and say this now: In case I do come up with an easy solution everybody is on their own liability wise as it is illegal to have a dvd player up where the driver can watch - so to each their own and for goodness sakes let the wife and kids watch and keeps the eyes on the road!...lol
Anyhow - more to come later....
