Getting 385 miles per tank just when the yellow light goes on.
Dont know how much gas is left in tank after yellow light comes on
so i rush to the nearest gas station.
Was getting about 365 per tank before, not to sure about MPG cause i always forget to see the amount of gallons.

Something seem's wrong to me! I have a 07 hatch 2.3l and I average 19.8 mpg. I get about 248 miles till the light comes on and I use Prem. gas. A tend to drive a bit spirited thought ( under statment ). Mostly a light every 2-5 miles. I've only made one long distance HWY drive, only got about 315 to the tank. 70-80mph

I have only filled up 2 times, both were about 21 mpg. I put my foot into it once in a while though. The rest of the time I drive like a granny and use the cruise control when i can. (Has factory CAI, if that explains the low mpgs)

Took delivery of Shiro-Kuma beginning of May.... have already been back and forth to Palm Springs a few times, as well as a trip to Vegas and Palm Springs and back....
My normal daily grind is about 21 miles of mostly (90%) highway driving and the other 10% is surface streets... My daily grind, however, is a LOT of stop, go, slow, speed, slow, stop kind of movement. I notice in the MPG is between 26 and 27 with the commute, but hit 28 on the trip to Vegas - lots of climbing and hills and speeds were at least 70 and above.... many times at 80....
Not a MazdaSpeed 3 - just a "regular" Mazda 3 Sport hatch with the 5 speed auto sport trans and the 2.3 motor with California ULEV/ZLEV emissions.
If you're not driving a turbo MazdaSpeed - there's no reason to get the premium gas - doesn't do anything for you - at all.
If you're going for ultimate mileage - slow down.... slower starts (I put the "manumatic" in 2nd from a start and am up in 5th by 30 MPH) and you'll see higher numbers.... don't mash the pedal, use cruise control and lower speeds... It will save you gas...
Of course, that's all very difficult in the Zoom-Zoom M3 and MS3!

depending on where you get your gas, the quality is a big factor. cheap gas might have kind of a cocktail mixture of cheap anti-knock and other additives so you have to go with the super instead of the 87, but usually its not so bad that you need their premium. try like a high quality 87, like chevron or something and see if that doesn't run as smooth as the premium at your other place. anyway, in a few years i would suspect everyone to start watering down their fuel.

I have a 2008 Speed3 Grand Touring, I have been getting 22.3 to 22.9 around town Putting my FOOT in it 10 prcent of the time. I Bought a K&N filter, 44bucks. and Now I get 23.6 to 24. So it was worth 44 bucks to me.!! Richmond V.A

mines a 04 2.3l sport and ive been hitting 30 mpg on average regular, and its half highway and in town, when is purely highway, cruising at 110-120 km/h its about 35-37 mpg, you know, depending on weather and stuff. All stock, and im not a granny driver, plus i drive some gravel too, but when gas is $1.30 a litre, it makes more sense to take the time to drive haha
