Loss of power/Dashboard lit up.

Loss of power/Dashboard lit up.
2012 Mazda3 5-Door experiences similar issue twice within six months. While driving, loss of acceleration and multiple dashboard lights come on. I live in Tampa, FL.
First time was driving 70mph in interstate during summer. Was towed to dealer and they replaced oil pressure switches, o rings, etc. also noted that they re-calibrated PCM per Mazda bulletin 01-024/12.
Last instance was a week ago. Driving about 45mph in city and lost acceleration, mult dashboard lights, and lost power steering. Towed to diff dealer and they sent error codes to Mazda USA. Almost two days later, they tell me that Mazda USA told them to replace ABS system. Also they noted that battery was low and not keeping adequate volts.
Dealer told me repairs did not fall under warranty and ABS would cost a little over 1K. Expressed disappointment with dealer and requested they email me error codes. Not ten minutes later, dealer called back and said they would cover cost of ABS.
Not overlooking the fact that they are covering the cost but I'm trying to understand the change of heart. Was it a Christmas gift or something else? Would like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue. First time posting and I'm looking forward to any and all responses. Thanks.
