Mazda beeping and lights flashing
Annie, Tom, Zoberman did any of you find a problem to the beeping/lights flashing problem you all had? My 2006 Mazda3 has started with the exact issues you have all described and Mazda has determined I need an entire new Passenger Junction Box for $3500!!!
Hiopeing one of you may have a fix! Thanks

VERY Annoying Nokia Beeping noise
Hey!
S'up?
I have recently bought a 2007, Mazda 3 Sp23, sportmatic 5 door hatchback that's done 95,000K's. Until recently, everything was fine with the car.
That is until it started beeping whilst driving! The best way to discribe the beeping is like the Nokia message notification. Beep beep (pause) beep beep! NO warning lights came on the dash at ALL! And it isn't constantly on either, like a seatbelt warning or a key in ignition sounds! When it make that noise, I pulled over, and walked around the car thinking that it had blown a headlight or another light bulb! Nope they were ALL on!
It randomly comes on! Sometimes it won't make a sound on a long trip, then other times it just keeps randomly coming on and on and on! I've taken it to my local Madza Service centre, and they've NEVER heard of it! And of course there's NO mention of it in the Operators Handbook!
Does anyone know what could be making that noise and how to stop it? Does the 2007, Mazda3 SP23, auto have a low tyre pressure warning?
I've read somewhere here that if you juggle the Dash dimmer button from side-to-side, it's suppose to stop it, I did that and it still keeps beeping! When my local Autoelectrician comes back from Xmas hols on Monday, I was going to get him to simply unplug the speaker under the dash, if there is one) that makes the beeping sounds, but then I remembered the Rear Park Assist! So, I'll get him to simply put a ON/OFF switch in so that when it starts to make the VERY annoying beeping sound, I can just turn the speaker off!!
What do you guys think?
Thanks heaps!
Cheers!

Thanks to whoever it was that mentioned replacing the glove box light My Mazda (2006 Maxx sport) started the fast beeping sound and flashing dash board the other day. When the door was open, even without the car being on, or key in the ignition the beeping started as well as the dash flickering in time with it. When i closed the door it stopped beeping, but the dash still flickered for a while after.
Anyway, I noticed the glove box light wasn't working (and the ash tray light too), took it apart and the bulb was blown. Strangely enough though, when i drove the car into work (at 5:00am), the ash tray light DID work.
To cap off the story. Replacing the glove box light solved the beeping issue for me. The ash tray light doesn't work, maybe the dodgy electronics in the car caused the ash tray light to blow due to the glove box light being blown?
I guess I'll take a look at the ash tray light soon, but no hurry since it's not affecting anything... yet.
So thanks again for the help guys! I'm sure you saved me a couple hundred dollars!

beep
Hi all,
I have a Mazda 3, 1600 automatic, 2003.
Yesterday I was parking my car, switched off the ignition and noticed that the dashboard started blinking. I removed the key from the ignition but the blinking kept on going. When I opened the door, a rapid beeping sound occurred which was in sync with the blinking lights on the dashboard.
I started taking the car apart to see if some connector was loose or badly connected, but I have found no indication of such.
Today I opened the car and the beeping sound started immediately when the door was opened. closing the door makes the beeping sound go away, however the dashboard does not seem to flicker as it did yesterday, the km meter is just turned on. So the dashboard does not seem to be switched off when I turn the ignition to off and remove the key.
I also tried the advice given on this forum, regarding the key reminder alarm, I removed the red wire with black trace, but that did not stop the beeping sound.
When I turn the parking lights or headlights on, the beep becomes constant..
Has anyone had a problem similar to this one or have any idea on what might be the problem?

Beeping and Dashboard Illumination flashing to tune of beeping
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to keep this going for the assistance of future Mazda 3 owners (I have a 2006 Mazda 3) encountering the same problem i.e fast beeping and dashboard illumination flashing with beeping sound when the drivers door is open without the keys in ignition (dashboard illumination still flashed when the drivers door was even closed)
I read this thread and thought let me see what advice I would be given after visiting an auto electrician and a couple of Mazda Dealers in Sydney and Wollongong.
1. Auto Electrician thought the problem may have been behind the dashboard so I decided against him pulling it apart.
2. Mazda dealer in Wollongong said it was probably the ignition barrel and thats where they would start - $300 odd dollars.
3. Mazda Dealer in Kirrawee said its a weird thing the Mazda 3 does when the ashtray or glovebox light blows. I was shown how to replace the globes ($7/globe)
4. Mazda Dealer in Artarmon said it was the Passenger Junction Box and that they'd replaced one with the same problem on a previous occasion for approx $3,000.
I got home replaced the astray light and it was all fixed.
Hopefully we can all save someone $3000 dollars! Replacing the astray light is is the simplest thing anyone can do!!
BTW, I would be buying my next Mazda from McGrath Mazda Kirrawee - obviously they know what they are talking about. I would also like to reiterate what the previous guys have said about changing ashtray and glovebox globes. It is not some whacky stab in the dark. It WAS the real solution.
Regards,

Just have this problem recently, Beeping sound and dashboard light blinking/flashing, it affects also the car stereo display light and mileage light illumination while Ignition Key started without using part lights and Headlights.
I got a solution without changing the Glove Box Light & Ashtray light.
Solution:
1. Insert Ignition Key
2. turn on the part lights and head lights
3. Open/close the glove box
4. Switch off Head lights and part lights
5. Then remove Ignition key
Hopes this works on your Cars.
Thanks!

Mazda 3 2006 1.6A speedo light blinking
Hi bro out there. I face the same problem with the light blinking. I found out that there's some cable shorted but initial dun know which part. After a few bang here and there.. i found out that after this particular place that i knock the blinking go's off. It was located at the glove box. Top left hand corner (For asia car, right hand drive) near the air con outlet. I give a few knock and the blinking has gone and back to normal. The glove box light came back. I think there's some cable shorted. Hope you guys can solve this issue asap. Cheers... !!
